Maglia Rosa Cycling

Owned and run by Paul Hart and Catherine Burton. We’ve spent many years riding and racing throughout Europe, but for over a decade have been drawn back again and again to this spectacular part of Italy.
We are based in the mountainous region of Trentino, once you've ridden here nowhere else will do. The roads, landscape, history and culture all make this place pretty addictive for cyclists.

“perché Maglia Rosa? - why Maglia Rosa?”

Since 1931 the leader of the general classification in the Giro d’Italia has worn the Maglia Rosa - the pink jersey. The colour was chosen to reflect the race’s founder and organiser, the sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, which was (and still is) printed on pink paper.
Francesco Camusso was the winner of that 1931 Giro and the first to claim the Maglia Rosa. Since then the riders to wear the Maglia Rosa on the top step of the podium reads like a who’s who of cycling greats - Binda, Coppi, Bartali, Anquetil, Gaul, Merckx, Gimondi, Hinault, Moser, Indurain, Pantani, Contador........

The popularity of cycling in the UK is a fairly recent phenomenon but in Italy it is part of the culture, from the big professional races to the great frame builders and component manufacturers to old grannies riding to the coffee shop or bakery, cycling is in their hearts and you will quickly realise this on one of our holidays.

Whether you hear friendly shouts of “Vai, Vai!” or “Bravo!” when climbing a hill, or, after several days of riding, you suddenly realise even the motorists are not out to get you!

We want you to see and experience everything this beautiful place has to offer, to immerse yourself in one of the best places in the world to ride a bike, to interact with your surroundings and the people who live there – it’s not just the cycling, but the connection to the world around you.

Cycling is our passion and our aim is to share the most spectacular riding destinations in Italy with like minded cyclists.
We will take you on unforgettable rides through the mountains and valleys of Trentino.

Why choose us

We offer two fantastic destinations - Lake Garda and the Dolomites. Our holidays are for cyclists with a passion for challenging terrain, fantastic scenery, great weather, Italian cycling culture and last, but not least, the amazing food and wine the region has to offer.

We will stop at nothing to make your holiday an unforgettable experience - we know the roads intimately, whether it's one of Italy’s great climbs or one of those hidden roads that only a lucky few know about - you'll be in good hands. You will have a ride leader with the experience to give advice on all aspects of cycling, whether it be descending technique, position on the bike or to spot and resolve any mechanical problems - we will make sure you get maximum enjoyment out on the road.

The majority of our holidays are based at the north end of Lake Garda in the region of Trentino, the amazing roads and mediterranean climate make it the perfect place for riding your bike. Lake Garda is easy to get to, only a 2 hour flight from the UK and a 45 minute transfer from Verona airport.

The Dolomites is a region like no other with spectacular mountains and a fascinating history and culture, riding through this high altitude landscape is an adrenaline packed adventure. The Dolomites are only a 2 hr flight from the UK and a 2 hr 30 minute transfer from Venice or Verona airports.
